Welcome to WomanCare, a medical practice designed for the unique health care needs of today's woman.
WomanCare is a group of three experienced physicians who offer comprehensive OB/GYN services. We provide complete care for women of all ages, including pregnancy and delivery, preconception, family planning, infertility evaluations and more.
We also have the only three Certified Nurse-Midwives in the region, including the area's most experienced midwife. They and all our doctors handle deliveries at Clark Memorial's Family Birth Place. Our office provides the latest technology as well, including 3D/4D ultrasound.
WomanCare is also one of the few practices in the area to have a Spanish speaking physician on staff for the benefit of Hispanic patients who may not be as fluent in English.
But more than anything, we focus on friendly, attentive service, convenient appointments and the best possible care for women of all ages.
For your special health care needs, call WomanCare for an appointment today. Our name says it all.

It may seem that healthcare is getting more high-tech, but less personal, especially in the field of women's healthcare. While technology may allow a physician and expectant mother to see her unborn child developing in greater detail than ever before, more and more doctors are no longer delivering babies for their patients.
At WomanCare, we're taking the opposite approach, placing as much emphasis on the human touch as on technology. In 2006, WomanCare opened our new office at 301 West 13th Street in Jeffersonville, the latest step in our mission to make compassionate OB/GYN care available to every woman.
All of our physicians - Drs. Christopher Grady, Sylvia Stell and Ronald Wright - deliver babies in Clark Memorial Hospital's beautifully-appointed new Family Birth Place.
Another enormous advantage WomanCare offers is the availability of Elizabeth Bary, RN, CNM, Alison Reid, RN, CNM, and Damara Jenkins, RN, CNM, the only three nurse-midwives in the entire Kentuckiana region.
But even as WomanCare patients are enjoying such personal attention from a truly caring staff, you still have access to the very latest medical technology. For example, WomanCare offers new 3D/4D ultrasound capabilities, providing you (and your physician) with much more detail than has ever been available from an ultrasound before.
WomanCare offers a comprehensive array of OB/GYN services for women of all ages, including preconception and family planning, infertility evaluations, complete care through pregnancy and delivery and routine care throughout the year.
New patients are always welcome, and the practice accepts most insurance, as well as
Visa® and MasterCard®.
For women who still want personal attention and experienced care from their doctor while having access to the best medical advances available today, all in a warm and relaxing setting designed for comfort, WomanCare really delivers.

At WomanCare, everyone on our staff is focused on providing you with the best possible experience. In a world where we seldom receive the attention we expect, our physicians, nurse midwives and staff make time to answer every question and address every concern.
We know that your health, especially when it comes to pregnancy and delivery, is of utmost concern to you, and we want you to know that your well-being and peace of mind is our top priority.
We think you'll find that WomanCare is a very different kind of practice, one where the needs of the patient always come first. We sincerely enjoy providing the best possible care for women, and it shows in everything we do.
We invite you to raise your expectations, and to have confidence in your relationship with your doctor. Everything we do is focused on that single goal. It's our pleasure to serve you. We encourage you to find out more about our physicians and nurse midwives by clicking on the photos above.

Elizabeth Bary, RN, CNM, Alison Reid, RN, CNM, and Damara Jenkins, RN, CNM are the only three Certified Nurse-Midwives in the entire Louisville metropolitan region. All three are available to provide moms with an intimate and personal birth experience at Clark Memorial Hospital's Family Birth Place.
The number of births being overseen by nurse-midwives is on the rise. The American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) estimates that soon 10% of babies in the U.S. will be delivered by Certified Nurse-Midwives, up from 3% just ten years ago. Worldwide, midwives deliver more than two-thirds of births.
Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) are registered nurses who graduate from a nurse-midwifery
program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives, and pass a national certification exam. CNMs are educated in both nursing and midwifery and can practice anywhere in the U.S. (In contrast, Direct-Entry Midwives, also called Lay, Licensed, or Professional Midwives, practice midwifery, but they are not registered nurses, and are not certified.)
A Nurse-Midwife is an advanced practice nurse with additional training around delivering babies and providing prenatal and postpartum care to women. They are very involved in labor and delivery, sometimes never leaving the mother during the entire labor process, and will consult with a physician who may become involved in the delivery if needed.
Although qualified to administer drugs and perform medical procedures, those interventions are not routine for nurse-midwives, and they are used only when the mother requests them.
In addition to delivering babies, nurse-midwives can also provide both prenatal and postpartum care for mothers and newborns. In addition, nurse-midwives provide family planning and birth control counseling, and normal gynecological services such as: physical and breast exams, pap smears, and preventive health screening. In most states, nurse-midwives may prescribe medications.
